Campus Safety

The Department of Campus Safety is operational throughout the calendar year, including holidays and breaks. In addition to maintaining a safe campus environment, the DCS oversees parking services, traffic control, ID services and emergency management on the Hood College campus, and officers patrol campus on foot and in vehicles 24 hours a day.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center at Hood College, open Monday through Friday, provides confidential counseling services, support groups and wellness programming for students. The Counseling Center staff members can also provide referrals for long-term professional counseling and emergency services. Appointments are preferred; walk-ins are accommodated on a space-available basis.

Health Center

The Hood College Health Center is staffed by registered nurses, with a physician or nurse practitioner available by appointment. The Health Center is open Monday through Friday when classes are in session, with extended hours on Wednesday nights, and can provide services including general primary care, accident/injury treatment, physical exams and wellness programming.

Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid works with students and families to help make the Hood College experience an affordable one. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the week, and the financial aid staff can help you and your family develop a plan for financing your student’s college education as well as offering information about loans, scholarships, and grants.

Center for Academic Achievement and Retention (CAAR)

The Center for Academic Achievement and Retention provides academic support for all Hood College students. Services include academic advising and support, disability services, free tutoring, and a writing center.
